The Cadre System Within and Without

Just as there is an order on the outside, where we have God at the head of the authority cadre system, so also there is an established structure beneath Him:

• Angels
• Devils/demons
• Elemental spirits
• Principalities and powers
• Dominions and rulers on earth

In the same way, within us—inside our souls and hearts—we also have a cadre system.

At the top is God: the Spirit of God, God the Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. We also have angelic voices that speak. Then we have these elemental spirits within our souls.

These elemental spirits seek to enforce the governing laws and principles that God has established to govern the soul and direct man to walk in righteousness.

They serve as elders over the child—the immature man—whose soul is not yet mature, whose awareness of his spirit is still developing, and whose understanding of God’s laws and spiritual maturity are still growing.

These elemental spirits function as law keepers and law enforcers. They operate like a police system, a judiciary, a magistrate, and a courthouse within the soul. They establish the law and attempt to enforce it by creating mental pressure, compelling a person to act according to the rules and principles God has established for the soul.

However, as man begins to grow and work with God, he learns to become reflective. This is very important because there is no growth without reflection.

He learns to walk with God, obey His instructions, review the outcomes of obedience and disobedience, reflect, correct himself, surrender his own will, and continue to grow.

As man grows, his understanding of God increases. This knowledge is according to Scripture, but it also includes the understanding that comes through experiencing and living out the revealed truths of Scripture.

Therefore, he grows in the knowledge of God through experience.

Experiential knowledge is the kind of knowledge that becomes firmly established because it produces fruit. It is knowledge that can be relied upon. This form of knowledge produces the strongest convictions within a person.

This is why Christianity is a practice. You must actively live out the truth in order to grow in your soul.

As man grows in this knowledge, he begins to understand God more deeply. He understands the reasoning behind God’s laws, and this is the most important thing: understanding the why behind the commands.

When he understands the purpose behind God’s laws, he is able to enforce those principles within himself. He can also guide those under his care—such as his children and those for whom he has responsibility—in a way that reflects God’s own character.

As he grows, he understands the reason behind these rules. He becomes able to judge correctly when to apply one principle and when to apply another.

He understands that good must be pursued for the right reasons. He understands higher laws and lower laws, temperance, balance, priorities, and how to walk blamelessly before God.

When he reaches this level of maturity, he no longer needs these elemental spirits to govern him. He does not need them constantly telling him what to do because he understands the reason behind things.

He is now able to govern himself because his mind is clear, and his judgment and reasoning have been sharpened.

He has graduated from the level of a slave who listens to taskmasters. These elemental forces once operated within his soul as taskmasters, forcing him toward what was right and wrong, burdening his conscience, and giving him no peace until he obeyed their demands.

But now he has graduated from the position of a slave into the position of lordship over his own soul.

The elemental forces that were once taskmasters now take the role of elders and advisors. They may advise, but they no longer rule.

Man now has the freedom that comes through knowledge, understanding, and sonship.

He does not have to listen to them because he has matured. This freedom brings him peace. Even when he chooses not to follow what they attempt to enforce, he is able to do so with understanding, peace, and a clear conscience.

This is the peace that brings quietness, calm like still waters, and healing within the soul.

This is what the Apostle Paul was speaking about when he said that Christ has delivered us from bondage. We must not return to bondage.

Do not allow these elemental forces to tell you that you must do this or must not do that; that you must eat this or not eat that; that you must touch this or not touch that.

Do not allow them to bring you back into bondage through the observance of moons, Sabbaths, and external regulations.

These were things that the Old Testament law established, and these spirits operated alongside those laws to enforce them within the souls of men.

But in Christ, we have been brought into freedom, maturity, and sonship.
